How to Stop Polyester from Shedding? | 4 Easiest Steps

So you want to know how to stop polyester from shedding? That’s fantastic! We are excited to see people like you knocking us for whom we especially designed this article. And we would be glad if you secure a good understanding within a few minutes of this.

How to Stop Polyester from Shedding

Before you know the steps, you had better learn what polyester is and what its usage is, and what happens when it sheds.

Polyester is a synthetic fabric favorable for its durability. You can use it in various garments such as pants, jackets, sweaters, blankets, and so on. However, it won’t be a good sign at all if your polyester piece sheds. It will look odd. A design is in vain if a polyester garment leaves unsightly lint balls behind.

However, no worries, you can prevent this beautifully. Here’s how!

How Do I Stop Polyester from Shedding

Please go through the four steps one by one.

Step One

In the first stage, have a dog shedding brush. Or, you may come up with a natural-bristled brush before washing. Now, brush down your polyester piece with that brush you have chosen. It will nullify all the loose fibers from your cloth that could be shed. You will get the proof while washing or after laundering.

Step Two

Next, see the temperature and washing-related instructions that have come with your polyester piece. Now wash that piece following the set of instructions. It would help best if you used a gentle detergent along with a cup of vinegar for washing.

There are two benefits of applying vinegar. It will stop shedding and make your polyester piece fresh-smelling!

Step Three

Now, you need to hang the piece and let it dry. You can rely on a dryer if it’s raining out there. And to remove any buildup, it would help if you cleaned out the lint trap halfway.

Step Four

It is the final step. Have some spray starch and spray down your polyester piece. Then stop for two minutes for starch and let it dry. It will turn the polyester fibers a bit stiffer. Also, it will make the piece less susceptible to shedding!

Don’t worry, it won’t be too stiff at all!
